On Sept. 20, in our first candidate forum of the 2018 election season, we heard from the four Democrats hoping to replace outgoing Ron Roberts on the County Board of Supervisors.

Thanks for joining us on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Elijah's Restaurant and Deli in Clairemont for the San Diego County Democrats for Environmental Action September club meeting, as we heard from all four Democratic candidates running to replace outgoing supervisor Ron Roberts on the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, District Four (D-4), including Nathan Fletcher, Omar Passons, Lori Saldaña and Ken Malbrough.

Our club's first candidate forum of the 2018 election season was moderated by club president Tommy Hough, with questions submitted during the meeting in writing. Most of our club's candidate fourms are free and open to the public, but only current members of the San Diego County Democrats for Environmental Action club are permitted to submit questions.

Club patron member and chair of the San Diego Chapter of the Surfrider Foundation, Michael Torti gave an update to club members on the ongoing clean-up in the Tijuana River Valley, and the city of Imperial Beach's lawsuit against the International Boundary Water Commission (IBWC).

Michael also contributed a guest piece to our Third Anniversary Event program on Sept. 24, and wrote up a more detailed blog on the matter at our Green Blog page.
