San Diego County Democrats for Environmental Action club president Cody Petterson spoke at the YES on Measure A rally at the San Diego County Registrar of Voters on Jan. 30th, and spoke with KUSI News afterwards about how sprawl development like the Newland Sierra project destroys habitat, doesn't provide the affordable housing advocates claim it does, and puts the ability to meet our regional Climate Action Plan goals further out of reach.  By Tommy Hough The San Diego chapter of the League of Women Voters teamed with another non-partisan member of the Yes on Measure A coalition, Citizens Coordinate for Century III (C3), to endorse the Yes on A initiative and host the Smart Growth and Voter Power forum on the merits of the SOS position at Tom Ham's Lighthouse on Wednesday, Jan. 22nd. The panel included Nicole Capretz from the Climate Action Campaign, Rick Halsey from the California Chaparral Institute, and Lawrence Herzog from UCSD. Professor Phil Pryde of San Diego State University, the former chair of the San Diego County Planning Commission, served as moderator.  |
