February 2018 Endorsement Meeting Results

Thanks once again to all of our club members for taking time out of their weekend to join us at the IAM Local 1125 Machinists Hall in Kearny Mesa to help us selected another outstanding group of newly-endorsed environmental Democrats. Congratulations go to:

• James Elia, running in the 71st Assembly District (AD-71) against GOP incumbent and "global warming enthusiast" Randy Voepel.
• Alan Geraci, former deputy San Diego city attorney, running in the 75th Assembly District (AD-75) against GOP incumbent Marie Waldron.
• Monica Montgomery, criminal justice advocate at the ACLU, running against incumbent council president Myrtle Cole for San Diego City Council, District 4 (D-4).
• Tommy Hough, broadcaster and former president of San Diego County Democrats for Environmental Action, running against GOP incumbent Chris Cate for San Diego City Council, District 6 (D-6).
  
• Mark Bartlett, veterans caseworker serving the homeless veteran population, running against GOP incumbent John McCann in Chula Vista City Council, District 1.
  
• Patrick MacFarland, educator, running against GOP incumbent Patricia Aguilar in Chula Vista City Council, District 2.
• Mary Salas, former state assemblymember and the incumbent mayor of Chula Vista.

A big thanks once again to Council of Clubs pesident John Loughlin for providing the club with photos of candidates and meeting attendees from throughout the day.
