Endorsement Results
A very special thanks to all the candidates for the hard work they put into the San Diego County Democrats for Environmental Action candidate endorsement questionnaire – the product of several months of discussion and drafts, with input from the club policy committee and direction and ratification by the club's political committee. Thank you for your time and efforts candidates!
District One (D–1)
Babara Bry and Joe LaCava
No Position – Neither candidate made it to the needed 60 percent threshold.
Update: Barbara Bry was endorsed by the club at our meeting in La Jolla on January 27, 2016.
District Three (D–3)
Anthony Bernal and Chris Ward
Chris Ward won big on the first ballot with a vote exceeding the needed 60 percent. Chris is officially endorsed by the club.
District Seven (D–7)
Jose Caballero and Justin DeCesare
Neither candidate reached the needed 60 percent threshold, but both candidates were given an acceptable rating.
District Nine (D-9)
Ricardo Flores, Georgette Gómez, Araceli Martinez and Sarah Saez
No position – None of the candidates made it to the needed 60 percent threshold. The club may revisit this endorsement decision at a later date.

UFCW Location and Meeting Information
Parking is available in the rear of UFCW Local 135, with additional parking available on the street, and next door on the first tier parking lot of the First United Methodist Church of San Diego.
The meeting is open to the public, and all members of San Diego County Democrats for Environmental Action in good standing are invited to attend and vote. Only club members are permitted to vote in this endorsement process.

The large meeting room is on the second floor of UFCW Local 135, and can be accessed by the exterior staircase in the back of the building. An elevator to the second floor is also available and accessible from the rear first floor entrance.
Registration for members will begin at 9:30 am, and the meeting will come to order at 10:00. Club members are permitted to vote and leave at any time, but may only vote on endorsements which have not yet been decided. Late ballots from members on endorsements already voted on will not be accepted.

We'll have a separate color ballot for each race. In the event of a second round of voting, additional ballots will be available.
Completed candidate questionnaires will be distributed and made available for each race. Each questionnaire will be returned after votes have been cast. No candidate questionnaire may leave the room.
In addition, some club business will be conducted while ballots are being counted, including the election of club Democratic State Central Committee (DSCC) delegates, and ratification of the club nomination committee.
