Water is a topic we'll be talking about in the Golden State in terms of policy and political matters for decades to come, so thank you to those who joined us Saturday, Aug. 20, for a guided tour of the North City Water Reclamation Plant in UTC – the city of San Diego's premiere Pure Water facility.
The North City Water Reclamation Plant is a crucial step in the city's goal of providing one-third of San Diego's drinking water from a locally-controlled source by 2035, thereby reducing dependency on the Colorado River and the Metropolitan Water District.
As the photos above demonstrate, this was a unique opportunity to learn about how drinking water is recycled, and a process which our neighbors in Orange County have been using successfully for well over a decade.
